The Deerstalkers Club was first established in the late 1960s and is centred around ethical deer hunting. Its Code of Ethics dictates that Deerstalkers Club members will not spotlight deer or shoot from any mechanically powered vehicle, boat or aircraft and they will not course any species of deer (use dogs for example). The club meets at the SSAA Springvale Range once a month and regularly hosts hunting trips, guest speakers, demonstration nights and education courses. With a lodge at Woods Point, the Deerstalkers Club members often head up to the high country for club events and hunts.
