The Field Hunters Club was established in the late 1980s to foster and develop hunter ethics, hunter training and opportunity; foster the sustainable use of game; and to improve hunting for the future. More than 250 members belong to the club, which meets at the SSAA Springvale Range once a month. Along with holding a mid-year raffle, fox drives, 4WD training courses, hunter training courses and game meat tasting nights, the club also operates its own Feral Animal Control Program. It has access to a major area of prime hunting land throughout Victoria, all within two hours of Springvale.
