The Marong Pistol Club is a Police approved target shooting Club located on the Marong-Serpentine Road at the Marong Rifle Range.  It is a sub Club of the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (SSAA).

The Club is a very family-oriented and social club with around 50 members.  It offers a range of target shooting events that cater for both experienced and new shooters.

The number one priority is safety, and for new shooters, the Club offers one one-on-one training over a period of 6 months.  It is expected that members will become licensed and own their own handgun as they develop in the sport.

The sport requires commitment as the rules around participating in pistol shooting and owning a handgun are, as expected by societal attitudes, substantial.  The Club does not offer “one-off social experiences” such as a party, given the seriousness of handling firearms.

If you want to explore if this sport is right for you, make an appointment, come out and, under supervision, try out a shoot.  There is no obligation to join.

The Club has several handguns of different types and calibres that members can use whilst in training or to try out.  In addition, pistol shooters are by nature a friendly lot and are more than happy to share their experiences and give insights to new members.

Anyone over the age of 12 can join, provided that they are a member of the SSAA and meet the Club’s and Police requirements (which will be explained at the first meeting).  If you decide to apply and are accepted, there is a joining fee of $115 and an annual fee of $170. The sport of target pistol shooting is a real test of skill and fun!  To make an appointment, call the Club today.
