Springvale Youth Training Scheme
The Springvale Youth Training Scheme is designed to teach juniors the safe handling and use of firearms in a supportive environment.
It also gives juniors the opportunity to learn common shooting disciplines and try competitive shooting against people close to their own age. Juniors aged between 12 and 14 must have a parent/family member with them to participate but parental involvement is appreciated for all participants. Shooters are initially trained for prone shooting and they progress to field rifle and 3-positional as skills develop. All YTS participants learn using .22 bolt-action rimfire rifles because they provide a low recoil.
