Game licence data shows the importance of hunting as an outdoor recreation

The latest game licence statistics published by the Victorian Game Management Authority once again highlights the importance of game hunting as an outdoor recreation in the state.

There are now just under sixty thousand licensed game hunters in Victoria. The largest age cohort of game hunters is 28 to 37 year olds and female participation has increased by 54% over the past five years.

Whilst game hunters come from across the state, and all walks of life, there are large concentrations of hunters in Outer Suburban Melbourne and in large Regional centres such as the Latrobe Valley, Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo and Shepparton.
