Stage one of renovation works – funded through Shooting Sports Facilities Program grants and SSAA Victoria money – will get under way at Springvale Range on Monday.
While the main public range will be unaffected, ranges three, four and five will close from Monday, November 21 to Saturday, December 11 for the works.
During this period a team of tradesmen will build a new wall between ranges three and four and install new backing plates on both ranges. Range five will be closed to allow the tradesmen to store materials and access ranges three and four without interrupting main range users.
The closure will affect sub-clubs that shoot on ranges three, four and five, therefore members should contact their clubs for alternative shooting arrangements.
SSAA Victoria encourages all members to continue using the other ranges during this period and looks forward to unveiling the new-look ranges later in the year.
Like any construction project, the completion date is dependent on weather.
