SSAA Victoria members are eligible to enter the Sunday Island Junior Hunters Ballot for 2023.
The Junior Ballot sees the Para Park Co-Operative guide four junior hunters (Non Members) aged 12-17 years (as of 30th April 2023) and holding a Junior Shooter’s Licence, Victorian Game Licence and Membership to either SSAA Victoria, the ADA or FGA.
Under the strict supervision of a Para Park guide, each junior hunter will be allowed to take one Hog Deer Hind selected by the guide, in a managed area set aside for this ballot.
Junior hunters drawn must attend a briefing day on Sunday Island, held on a Saturday in early 2023. (All family members are encouraged to attend the briefing day and
will be invited to stay on the weekend of their juniors hunt period.)
On the briefing day, junior hunters will need to pass a competency test with the rifle they will be using on the weekend of the hunt. Two rounds from a bench at 100 metres and two rounds at 100
meters to be fired into a silhouette hog deer target.
