SSAA Victoria has published its first Annual Report, allowing the Association to share the annual financial statements and review the activities and successes of 2015-16.
The publication of the first Annual Report came at a time when the finances were at their strongest in recent years. Over the past three years the Association has seen a nine-fold increase in operating surplus. In addition, its net asset base has increased by 14 per cent last financial year and grown by over a third again since 2013.
SSAA Victoria’s operating surplus was $639,000 in 2015-16, which was a $191,000 increase on the previous financial year. The Association also reported $4.81m revenue for the year ending April 2016, which was a $430,000 increase on the previous year.
But the successes goes beyond finances, with a 3.1 per cent increase in the female membership in 2015-16, and increases in patronage of up to 13 per cent at Springvale and Eagle Park.
The Victorian Government also increased its support of the Association. In 2015-16 the Government committed to continuing the Conservation and Pest Management program for another four years, and doubled its funding. In November 2015 the Association also received a $100,000 grant for infrastructure improvements on top of the substantial grant it secured towards the land purchase of Springvale Range.
More information about the above successes and more can be found in the complete Annual Report.
As with most member-based not-for-profit organisations, progress would not have been possible without the support of many people. Thank you to all SSAA Victoria members, staff and volunteers for their ongoing commitment to the Association and the shooting sports.
