Shoot for the games 2026

SSAA Victoria is actively advocating for shooting events to be included in the 2026 Victorian Commonwealth Games

SSAA’s 210,000-plus members across Australia form a significant portion of the target shooting community in this country, with a number of notable elite shooters such as Latiesha Scanlan, James Willett and Katarina Kowplos hailing from our ranks.

Shooting has the potential to be included in the sports program for the 2026 Commonwealth Games via a formal submission and a showing of support from the shooting community.

Along with supporting Shooting Australia’s efforts, SSAA Victoria has joined with Field & Game Australia and the Australian Deer Association to actively advocate for political leaders to make clear pre-election commitments for the inclusion of shooting at the games.

SSAA Victoria members are encouraged to join the Shoot for the Games 2026 chorus on social media and share why their sport deserves to be included in the Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games lineup.

Use #ShootForTheGames2026 and #commonwealthgames2026 when posting and tag both @CommGamesAus and @shootingaustralia.
