Victoria’s peak shooting organisations are strengthening their historical ties by taking a joint approach to the 2022 Victorian State Election.
SSAA Victoria, FGA and ADA regularly work together and support each other on various issues. By taking a combined approach to the election, the peak organisations can ensure that the candidates for the election can give commitments that will deliver for Victoria’s 220,000+ shooters. It also means that shooters can be assured that the various sectional interests within the shooting community are not played off against one another.
The peak organisations will be putting a suite of commitments forward for support and will be publishing the positions of the various candidates to members and the shooting community more broadly ahead of voting in November.
The package has been developed with expert policy advice. It includes initiatives to improve public land access and management, safeguard game hunting, improve shooting facilities, ensure robust consultation and promote shooting to the broader community.
