Hunters near the Grampians have the opportunity to have an impact on the way public land in the area is managed over the next 15 years.
A series of two-hour community engagement workshops are being conducted by Parks Victoria at different locations during September.
People interested in the future of the Grampians and the activities which will be permitted on the public land there are encouraged to attend.
Parks Victoria said the new management plan will underpin strategic planning for the Grampians landscape over the next 15 years to ensure that environmental and cultural values of this iconic landscape are preserved.
At the workshops, participants will learn about the management planning process, explore the challenges and opportunities and share their knowledge of the area.
“SSAA Victoria members have a voice on issues related to hunting on public land and these workshops provide an opportunity to use it,” said SSAA Victoria Communications Manager Justin Law.
“We make regular visits to the government on these issues, but nothing speaks louder than people prepared to get engaged and bring real-life experience to the table at workshops such as these.”
At the two-hour workshops you will:
- Learn about the Grampians Landscape Management Plan process.
- Explore the challenges for managing this highly valued landscape for the next 15 years.
- Share your knowledge of using, living near, managing or connecting with this landscape.
- Provide your input on key decisions.
