Wild dog action plan

Wild dog action plan

Landowners have been called upon to assist the Victorian Government in assessing wild dog management tools.

The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) will hold a series of community workshops this Autumn to review the 2015-16 Wild Dog Management Zone Work Plans and prepare for the next financial year.

Shooting will be one of the management tools assessed during the workshops, along with trapping, baiting, exclusion fencing and good animal husbandry.

The workshops will also include hands on field days covering topics such as identifying wild dog signs on your property; where and how to set wild dog traps; establishing bait stations for best results; a Canid Pest Ejector demonstration and AWI Community Wild Dog Group information.

For more information, contact your local Wild Dog Controller or Bairnsdale DELWP office on 5152 0400.
