Blue Ribbon Day is an opportunity for Victorians to pay tribute to police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty, while supporting the vital work of the Victorian Blue Ribbon Foundation. The Foundation honours fallen officers by funding important medical facilities in hospitals across the state and naming them in their memory.
The SSAA Victoria Shepparton Branch proudly hosted its annual Blue Ribbon Day fundraiser at the Shepparton Range, with around 100 keen participants (including men, women and youth shooters) taking to the traps for a 100-target clay event.
Over the years, the Shepparton Branch has contributed more than $50,000 to the Foundation’s Shepparton Branch, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to the cause and to our policing community.
This year’s fundraiser brought together support from across the Association:
-
$2,000 from SSAA Victoria (State Office)
-
$2,000 from SSAA National
-
$2,000 from SSAA Victoria Shepparton Branch
-
$300 raised through a raffle
Bringing the combined total to an impressive $6,300.
A SSAA Victoria spokesperson said the event continues to show the strong connection between local shooters and their community.
“It’s important we recognise and honour those officers who made the ultimate sacrifice. Blue Ribbon Day is a meaningful way for us to show our respect and give back to something that truly matters locally.”
SSAA thanks every participant, volunteer and supporter who contributed to the success of this event. We are proud to stand with the Victorian Blue Ribbon Foundation and continue this important tradition.
