Mildura’s 50BMG event days away

It’s not often you get the opportunity to see a bunch of 50 BMGs firing off in competition. But this weekend, SSAA’s Mildura Range will play host to the Inaugural 600-yard Fifty Calibre Shooters Association-Sanctioned Shoot.

The Long Range Shooting Club and FCSA have come together for the event at the range on Myall Street Extension, Cardross on Saturday, May 14. The main competition, which kicks off at 10am, is 50 BMG calibre only and a firearm will be available for use on the day.

Competitors must be an FCSA member to be eligible for official recorded scores and awards. This is a modified, sanctioned shoot, current modifications, all factory ammunition allowed only. Targets used will be Australian ICFRA 500-yard targets.

The range will be open for practice on Friday, May 13 from 10am and the rules are available here. Further modifications to rules may be required on the day and this will be at the discretion of the match director. A nomination fee of $30 will be required from all competitors.

Also running on the day will be a LRSC 600m Marksmen Event an LRSC Feral Shoot consisting of the 300m and 500m distances. Any calibres permitted may be used in these events but no awards or placings will be recorded. The nomination fee for both these events is $5.
