The Victorian Hunting Guide 2016 is being mailed out to 48,000 licensed game hunters across the State this week.
The guide contains extensive information about bag limits, season dates, safe and responsible hunting and updates to hunting arrangements for the 2016 seasons.
Game Management Authority Chief Executive Officer Greg Hyams said the State’s game hunters spent about 300,000 days in the field each year throughout regional Victoria.
“The Hunting Guide supports hunters by providing important information to help them comply with the law and hunt safely, sustainably and responsibly,” Greg said.
Contained in the guide is important information on hunting laws, licensing, where people can hunt, responsible hunting, including firearms safety, humanely hunting game and species identification.
Hard copies of the guide will become available from selected Game Management Authority, Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning and Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources regional offices and some hunting retail stores, while an online version is available.
